Triple award success for Bath Abbey

We are thrilled to announce that our stunning lighting design for the world-renowned Bath Abbey has been crowned the winner of not one, not two, but three prestigious awards.

The project won the Heritage Lighting category in the LIT Design Awards 2021, the GOLD accolade within the Interior (lighting projects) category of the WIN Awards 2021 and the Platinum award in the autumn edition of the Build Back Better Awards 2021. The new lighting scheme at the Abbey created by our expert team plays a major role in revealing and celebrating the historic building’s architectural features. It also provides flexible scenes for a variety of services and events.

The scheme incorporates warm white light, carefully chosen to evoke an inviting and intimate ambience that recognises the Abbey’s status as a place of worship. Simultaneously, the lighting has the capability to create impact via a variety of impressive, dramatically lit scenes for events that the Abbey will be able to utilise for many years to come.

Our lighting scheme was part of a £19.3 million transformation programme of restoration work to provide contemporary and sustainable solutions to meet the current and future needs of the spectacular Abbey.

The WIN Awards recognise the outstanding works of innovative, visionary and imaginative designers worldwide. The LIT Design Awards™ also recognise the best of international talent, focused on lighting product designers and lighting implementers. Build Back Better initiative champions and celebrates innovation in the built environment.

Being announced as a winner in these prestigious awards is a true testament to the uniqueness and beauty of the lighting scheme at Bath Abbey.
