Superbugs, Science Museum, London
Superbugs: The Fight For Our Lives is an exhibition open to the public until spring 2019. The new lighting design helps set the scene and invites interaction.
The theme for the exhibition is to explore and share how society is acknowledging the huge challenge of antibiotic resistance.
This features scientific research and stories from those who are waging their own war on the superbugs.
Having the opportunity to bring in our expertise allowed us to explore and let light play a significant role for this major temporary exhibition.
Our objective was to integrate all the lighting so the exhibition structures and displays had cohesion.
Working with exhibition designer, Anne Marie Galmstrup, our approach was to work in partnership to provide the intended impact. From the numerous tests and ongoing demonstrations, we ensured that the design complemented the physical space.
The project is supported by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and University of East Anglia (UEA) with bacteria displays provided by artist Anna Dumitriu.
